PACKING LIST
There may not be the opportunity to wash clothes every day. Please bear this in mind and pack accordingly.
ESSENTIAL
- CYCLE HELMET - No helmet no bike!
- 2 pairs cycling shorts/leggings preferably padded
- Cycle jerseys and t-shirts. We are invariably given a t-shirt in each country.
- Cycle friendly footwear. Hard soles are better as they transmit energy more efficiently to your pedals. If you are used to biking in clip-ins, you can bring your own pedals but few do because the biking is just not that rigorous. If you do bring your own pedals, make sure your bike shoes are also street shoes.
- Sleeping bag – you will be advised if one is needed, and if so, a lightweight one will do. You might want to pack a Cocoon for instances when not staying in hotels and sleeping in gymnasiums instead.
- A warm top for cold nights
- High factor sun cream
- Adapter for phone charger, camera, etc. See country adapters
- Bar bag or small rucksack/bum bag for your every day needs on bikes
- Wet wipes (you won’t know how you’d have managed without them)
- Overnight bag or pannier for taking all you need for Palestine. If you take a pannier (saddlebag), you must bring or order a rear rack from Beirut By Bike.
- Personal medication. Plasters, paracetamol, tweezers, immodium or similar anti diarrhoea medication, personal medication as required (you may not be able to get the brand of medication you want in the ME), spare glasses or contact lenses (and prescriptions for same)
- Towel and toiletries. Consider also Ultra Lite Towels that fit in your pocket and are disposable.
