BACK TO COUNTRY TEAMS

COUNTRY COORDINATORS'
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Each country team should have no more than 20 women riders. Teams may bring their own medical and technical support, however these will be provided throughout FTW.

1. Raise a team of 20 women cyclists.

2. Ensure team members train adequately.. The longest cycling leg in any one day is approximately 40km but the routes can be challenging for beginner and modest cyclists.

3. Ensure team members are briefed as to the aims and goals of FTW.

4. Ensure all team members have completed the application, medical and insurance forms by specified deadlines, as well as digital photographs the size of a passport headshot.

5. Collect and secure payment from the team. Each member will be required to pay a deposit to secure a place on the team which is usually $100.  This is non-refundable but it is transferable to another person. The remainder of the registration fee is due roughly one month prior to the ride start date.  The registration fee is usually about $500 total.   Participants will also have to pay for the bikes, usually about $160, but this can usually be paid in Beirut where we get the bikes  You might have to open a bank account solely for FTW business.

6. Ensure team members have up to date passports. Passports must not contain any Israeli stamps and must have been valid for six months prior to departure.  Keep a photocopy of each team member’s passport with you during the ride.

7. Forward your team’s arrival and departure information to the appropriate country hosts.

8..  During the ride you will be in charge of your team’s movements and liaison with country hosts and local organizers.

9.   Answer all email inquiries and maintain a list of interested persons whether they come to the ride or not.

10  Urge  your team members to get on the FTW Yahoo email list serve or FTW’s Facebook so that they will be in the loop on FTW events and not rely on you for all information.

11  After the ride encourage your team to take actions and publicize what they learned on the ride.  Notify  FTW international with news about your group’s actions and events for  posting on the website.
